Talk like a Pirate Day. All aboard!

Staff dress like pirates for International Pirate Day

Damian Scattergood, managing director, with Bryan Fitzsimons and Marine Blet getting ready to talk Pirate!

Today is International Talk like a Pirate Day! On the 19th of September, every year, we commemorate the golden age of Piracy as a ‘fun’ holiday.

Our serious business is translation but communication is the most important part of our job. It’s good to have fun and understand the different languages and methods of communication that cross international barriers and waters. Talking like a pirate is internationally recognized and also spans both the young and old. Talk Like a Pirate Day was created by John Baur (Ol’ Chumbucket) and Mark Summers (Cap’n Slappy) in 1995.

Hope you have fun talking pirate today!
