US census shows more than 55 million speak more than 300 languages

According to the latest US Census, there are some 55,076,078 people in America speaking more than 300 languages. There is a widespread use of languages such as Spanish and Chinese with more than 2 million speakers each to the smallest language Yuchi, with only four registered speakers! The Yuchi, also spelled Euchee and Uchee, are a Native American tribe who traditionally lived in the eastern Tennessee River valley in the 16th century. This census from April 2010 shows how big the US language territory is outside English.
